MGFX5 & DVP5 - Matthew Ashby

My project will be a cross between both Motion Graphics and Video Production and as such will include a thematic context using special effects to drive the story forward. It will be a short mixing sci-fi and fantasy and showing the struggle between the two as the characters battle each other using signatures from their respective genres (Sci-fi = Laser, Fantasy = Magic). I was use color composition to display the great disparity between the two, with grain-filled muted earthen colors to represent the old time charm of the fantasy genre and stark contrasts and sharp focuses to represent the glow of the technologically driven sci-fi. The project will include special effects spanning both genres representing that while neither are inherently good nor evil, they both have their charms and their faults.
