Final Proposal Assignmenet - Steve Karr

The story starts when the protagonist calls in sick, then takes his family out for a nice picnic in the local park.

Upon arrival, one of his old high school buddies notices him (and vice versa) and each of them makes a phone call.

Moments later, multiple cars and trucks show up, seemingly "ready to rumble."

All characters meet in the middle of the field and a few words are exchanged between the protagonist and the antagonist, "The Outsiders" style.

When the fight breaks out, the weapon of choice is....kites.

A montage of kite-fighting scenes is occasionally interrupted (once or twice) by scenes of "kite-related troubles" before the fight comes to a dramatic climax.

The film finishes off with the protagonist as the last man standing. He leaves with his family. As soon as the car pulls away, all the "dead" characters get up, collect their broken and beaten kites, and also drive away.
