Harry
Potter and the deathly hallows
Part
2
Scene
5 (copping the cup)
A
first person shot of a cart going down tracks in a underground cave-over to a
medium shot of them driving the cart-establishing shot of the whole cave and
cart as it passes past the camera-fade to a close up of the creature in the
cart as wind goes through his hair, followed by a tracking shot of the cart as
it keeps moving-establishing of harry and his friends-first person shot of the
cart and tracks-medium close up of the actors followed by a tracking shot of a
cart going around a corner. A first person shot of the tracks to give that
feeling of uneasiness-medium shot of them talking and pulling brake; back to a
fast cut to a first person shot to a back tracking shot –a wide shot of the
creature in the cart trying to pull the brake on the cart- medium shot of
actors flinching back as a first person shot of a waterfall coming in fast and
then into it-establishing shot of actors getting hit by waterfall as the camera
zooms into the actors in a cart as they are trying to brake. As a light comes
up it cuts to a medium close up of the actors falling as the seat falls out
from under them- a close up of feet falling at last a wide shot as they fall
down the cave.
The
pace of the editing was very fast and quick; I think this is to get a feeling
of uneasiness and unknowing up ahead. The lighting is very dark and dim with a
wet and dangerous feeling because it’s a cave. I think the director puts these
shots so fast to make the audience believe that the actors and the viewers of
the movie are in a cave traveling at high speed.
